Jaani Dushmani – Ek Kahani

Yeh hai kahani do Jaani Dushmanon ki…dono ek hokar bhi alag the…yeh kahani hai MERI

Ok, enough of my unending drama :-|. Read the story.

Not long ago, in fact in the very present, there was a girl. She dreamt endlessly about piercing her nose. She was fascinated by looking at all the Iyer maamis who had pierced their noses. She dreamt about the looking cool in her young age, and looking like a total maami in her old age with her pierced nose. She imagined her old age – she decided that she would wear the nine yard saari like her grandmother, and would also wear a huge nose pin. She dreamt of show-casing some maami-ism to her grand children by saying, “Kondai, ithu panaathe…athu panaathe” (Child, don’t do this, don’t do that)

Then, one day, according to the date decided by the almighty astrologer (almighty according to her mother that is), she got her nose pierced. She had a black out, and while people said that she is having low blood pressure or low sugar level, she thought that the piercing pierced her optic nerve, and as usual, her wild imagination became wilder, and she dreamt of her life as a blind girl.

Thou art to suffereth pain…to gaineth something. She remembered.

She didn’t utter a word, and bore the pain all by herself. She was very happy.

But, Lo and Behold! One very beautiful morning, she saw that her nose pin had penetrated down from her pierced hole. She looked un-beautiful on that beautiful morning. It seems her nose pin was VERY small! Some how, the girl overcame the situation, with so much courage and valor. Yes, she was very brave.

She went to another Kingdom named Bangalore. Her otherwise oh-so-clear skin became unclear. Yes, readers, yes, she was attacked by pimples. She was completely broken, she blamed all the things in that kingdom for such a horrible situation of hers. She was and is still, scared to enter that territory because of its harsh elements. Along with all those scary pimple attacks, she also got a pimple near her nose pin. When she returned back to her Kingdom, her clear skin was back again, but hey, the pimple near her piercing never vanished.

She used all the weapons against her enemy, her Jaani Dushman. Pimple removing cream, Anti-Pimple face wash, baby powder (yes, she did a research on internet) and turmeric. But, nothing worked. She had almost lost the battle when her mother decided to take her to the homeo doctor. She saw a new ray of hope.

The doctor came in her life like God’s angel and gave her the sweet medicines from God himself. She was also given a liquid to apply on the pimple. The liquid behaved like a lubricant, and her nose pin was removed just the moment before she had to leave for her daily work (read school). And, she left her nose for two or three days without a nose-pin. And then when her pimple disappeared, she tried to put the nose pin. But, the hole of her nose closed. She felt dejected, sad, angry, everything!

The piercing turned out to be her Jaani Dushman.

But, the girl is no less, she has decided to pierce her nose again, she is even more determined to defeat her dushman this time! :-)

P.S. – This girl is me. Yes, the mention is for those babbling bumbling jumbo dumbos who didn’t understand it till now! I have decided to put a new nose pin for new piercing – a silver ring this time round. I tried it on my nose, my father thinks that I look like a total gunda. My mother’s comment you ask? She said – “Oh! Her gunda-ness can be seen on her face at last!”. How rude. Main mummy se katti hoon!! X-|.
